The BC Association of Social Workers (BCASW) is seeking an organized, warm and proactive Executive Assistant & Member Experience Coordinator to support members, the Executive Director and the daily operations of the Association.

This full-time position is based in Vancouver, BC, with a hybrid/in-office work model. The role is 35 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work required. The starting salary is $39-$45 per hour, and the position reports to the Executive Director.

About BCASW

BCASW is a provincial professional association that supports, connects and advocates for social workers across British Columbia. BCASW is an association, not the regulatory college. Its work includes member service, professional development, advocacy and community connection.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for members, prospective members and the public.
• Support member recruitment, onboarding, renewals, retention and benefit inquiries.
• Provide administrative and executive support to the Executive Director.
• Coordinate meetings, schedules, travel, correspondence, reports and office records.
• Support Board, Executive, committee, branch and Community of Practice meetings.
• Prepare meeting materials and assist with minutes, action tracking and governance files.
• Assist with newsletters, notices, job postings, website updates and member materials.
• Maintain CRM and membership records, prepare reports and support forms, surveys, payment systems and virtual meeting tools.
• Help coordinate Social Work Week, conferences, webinars, CPD sessions and member events.
• Support membership growth, partnerships, advertising, sponsorship and related projects.

Qualifications

A Social Work degree is preferred. Related education in public administration, nonprofit management, business administration, communications, office administration, human services or a related field will also be considered.

Candidates should have three to five years of relevant experience. Experience supporting senior leadership, Boards, committees, volunteers, governance processes, membership organizations or nonprofit settings is an asset.

Strong telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with organization, confidentiality, judgment and attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable with CRM or database systems, websites, email platforms, Microsoft Office, Zoom or Teams and payment systems.
