Social Worker in Private Practice
Vancouver

I use Narrative Therapy, working particularly with people with addictive behaviours. I’ve helped clients with diverse problems, from couples in conflict to obsessions and compulsions. For self-care, I turn to meditation, spiritual reading, yoga and biking. I am deeply thankful whenever BCASW  bends a legislator's ear, or protests unconscionable budget cuts, or provides a voice for our marginalized groups, especially those facing poverty every day.

The Power of Social Work

Welcome to the BCASW website!  BCASW is the member services association for social workers and the voice for professional Social Work in British Columbia. Our site will keep you informed and current on the issues that matter to social workers in BC. Find out how, every day and in every community, social workers make a difference – that’s the power of Social Work!

 BCASW Private Practice Roster

In February, BCASW will launch its new private practice roster, with listings of Registered Social Workers throughout BC who provide private practice services for clinical services, training, consultation and supervision. Watch for our announcement.

The BCASW Mentoring Program

Mentoring provides an opportunity for the decades of collective wisdom and experience of our members to be shared with other BCASW members who will tangibly benefit. Whether you provide brief mentoring services, or undertake a longer-term commitment mentoring recent graduates in our new bridging program, Making the Transition: From School to Practice, your services are greatly valued. Learn all about the BCASW Mentoring Program, download an application to mentor, or download a request for a mentor,

Join a BCASW Discussion Forum

BCASW members can now join with other social workers in their community of practice to exchange ideas and information. Sign up and participate with fellow members of your Social Work community! It’s a great way to create linkages with fellow social workers, share knowledge and offer and receive support. To join a discussion group login to the Members Area and click on Discussion Forums.
